So hradzka pointed out a tragic (and probably commonplace) news article about an Iranian girl named Atefe Rajabi, who was executed for a) being raped (implied), and b) for talking back to the judge.
Which is horrible enough. And then I go looking at the news source, Iran Focus: Women, and I’m even more appalled at the abuses against the freedoms and rights of women in this world. It’s a reminder I needed—because even though I know this happens, it can begin to feel remote—because hey, America has its problems, but we’re free. We take it for granted, but we are free in ways that so many people in this world wish they could be.
But then, to look at a newspaper and read this and this…
Tragic. Terrifying.
