:: NEWS ::

March 2022:  Sana Takeda and I are so happy to announce a new trilogy we’re collaborating on — The Night Eaters — an Asian American horror and urban fantasy.  You can see the cover and more at Entertainment Weekly. And, never fear, Monstress will not be taking a hiatus — there are many arcs left in our story!  We’re doing both series simultaneously.

March 2022: Wingbearer is out!  In its first couple weeks it has hit the Indie Bestseller list, the Publisher’s Weekly Bestseller list, and has received some lovely reviews.  It’s also Barnes & Noble’s Young Reader pick of the month.  You can check out some of my interviews here with We Need Diverse Books and Subjectify.

September 2021:  Barnes & Noble is releasing a special edition version of Monstress Vol. 6, which has an exclusive cover — and includes a Monstress poster and postcards.  More here!

June 2021:  At Breaking the Glass Slipper there’s a new podcast interview with me about revenge.

June 2021:  The Literary Tarot Kickstarter is live!  I’m tickled to announce that I’ve been invited by the nonprofit, Brink Literacy, to participate in a project pairing tarot cards with literary characters who embody the meaning of the arcana.  My card is the Queen of Swords (Quills), paired with Grendel’s mother from Beowulf.  You can read more about the project here.

September 2020:  NPR Morning Edition chatted with me about my participation in the Fahrenheit 451 Read-a-Thon.  You can listen to it here.

September 2020:  Tachyon is publishing my first short-story collection: The Tangleroot Palace (June 2021).  Sana Takeda, my collaborator on Monstress, created the gorgeous cover.

August 2020: I had the great honor of participating in a Read-a-Thon of Fahrenheit 451, in celebration of Ray Bradbury.  Neil Gaiman, William Shatner, and many other lent their voices to this project.  You can listen to it until September 5th.

August 2020:  The entire Dirk & Steele series is now available on Audible!

July 2020:  A podcast interview with the team at Straylight Literary Magazine.

June 2019:  The Hero We Need – an essay published in Lithub about Keanu Reeves: “I don’t have a Keanu story. Not that kind. But I have a story adjacent to Keanu, maybe the same kind of story a lot of us have, and it starts with a Paula Abdul music video from 1991.”
