Things I love…
8 Jul
- I have rediscovered the television series, Witchblade, which I never had much of a chance to watch when it originally aired in 2001. This time around? I love it. The mythology, the writing, the emo-angst, Yancy Butler’s performances…it all comes together in an energetic, entertaining bundle of girl-power love.
- Speaking of excellent television, the original Danish version of The Killing is wild, complex, tense, and powerfully good. I haven’t seen the American remake, and to be honest, have little interest in it. I can’t imagine it’ll be as entertaining as this. We’re just past the half-way mark of the first season, which is twenty episodes long — twenty episodes, all devoted to solving just one case — and the twists and turns continue.
- The art and blog of Nicole Gustafsson. Whimsical, playful, charming, sweet — it’s the kind of thing that I love having around me as I write. I know — my work can be incredibly dark — but that’s not really me. Bunnies and little foxes having adventures, on the other hand…that’s totally what I’m all about.
- Van Leeuwan Artisan Ice Cream. We received some in the mail the other day (sending ice cream via UPS in the summer amazes me; like magic), and it is…beyond good. The ginger, so far, is my favorite — partially because there are actual chucks of ginger in the ice cream. Pair that with peach ginger pie, and you will officially float on up to Heaven.
So, that’s it for me. What have you recently discovered that you love?

Ice-cream by mail??? Is it in a thermos container?
Dry ice! Styrofoam!
swimming, bikes, loud music, fireworks, carnivals
Thank you for introducing me to Nicole Gustafson’s work! I’m in love!
