Another beautiful cover has emerged from the Crimson City series. This one belongs to Carolyn Jewel, who is writing the fourth book.
In other news, the hot topic of the morning seems to be that Kate Seaver is leaving Dorchester to be a senior editor at Berkeley. I’ve never met Kate, though everyone who talks about her glows. There has been much gnashing of teeth from various authors about her departure, though since the woman replacing her is another fine individual – and because Kate is being promoted to senior editor – I’m like, “Yay!” In a completely oblivious I-don’t-know-what-I-talking-about-but-I’m-happy-for-someone kind of way.
Anyway, onward.
Red Pen Diaries has finally posted a nice little description of the RT conference . I’ve been waiting to hear what she had to say about it all, and yup, she’s pretty much spot on (though the Dorchester Party was the best! It was! It was!). I did miss the Oz party, so I’ll reserve judgement on that particular minus. I must admit, the con organizers did make a boo-boo when they sheduled the talks with (all together, now) Laurell K. Hamilton, Sherilyn Kenyon, and Christine Feehan in the smallest rooms possible. Makes no sense to me whatsoever. I tried to get in to the talk on paranormals, I really did. The standing crowds pushed so far out into the hall, that all I could see was a glimpse of Laurell’s hair. Bad planning. That, or someone on the organizing board just doesn’t like paranormals all that much.
