Beautiful day in Shanghai. Lots of words written. Almost got hit by seven different motorcycles and bikes—not in the road, but on the sidewalk. Big sidewalk. Very big. Me, not as big as the sidewalk. And yet, somehow, I kept getting “almost” clipped. I was doing a dance on my tippy-toes, let me tell you.
I’m still catching up on email. I had no access to the internet while in Hong Kong, which was probably for the best, but I had over three hundred messages waiting for me when I got home, and answering mail is always slow when I’m in the middle of a book.
Over at Sexy Beijing, there’s a cool interview with erotica novelist Linda Jaivin, who also happens to be an expert on China. Very entertaining (but then, the webisodes at Sexy Beijing usually are). I’ll be heading up to Beijing this Saturday, and probably won’t have internet access up there for a bit, either. Maybe a whole week. Good for the writing, but maybe not so good for the business side of things. It’s amazing how many emails I get from agents/editors/other folks in publishing just as soon as I can’t read my mail, at all.
At Comic Book Resources, the February solicitations for Marvel are out, and here’s the description and cover of NYX #6.
