Vikki Simmons and the gals at Dear Author are commenting on Simon & Schuster’s new contract language. Which is…bad. Read for yourself. Take the warning. The glow of being published might never fade, but this is a business. It’s in your interest to protect yourself and make smart decisions (and have guts of steel). There may be areas to compromise when negotiating your contract, but the rights to your work, and the ability to keep those rights mobile, are not in that category.

The writing continues. I did, however, take a break yesterday to read Loretta Chase’s Not Quite A Lady, which I really enjoyed. I haven’t read any other reviews about this book, but it’s sweet, and the characters are easy to love, which is all I ever really ask for.
