“Extraordinary things are emerging from preclassic sites,” he said. “They are simply mind-boggling.”
Yes, that’s right, folks. Newly discovered Mayan artifacts have struck again! ( http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/05/science/05maya.html )
And on the European front, the Gypsies are coming! The Gypsies are coming! Proving once again that Europeans are pansies and hypocrites when it comes to immigration ( http://www.nytimes.com/2004/05/05/international/europe/05lett.html ).
On a final note, I was checking out the travel section of the NY Times, and found the site the newspaper maintains on Beijing. Really fascinating articles, but even better, on the main site there is a picture of two red doors, taken at the Wanfung Art Gallery. My mom and I are friends with the owners of the gallery (which has since changed names to the ‘New Art Center’). Very nice people, with extraordinary examples of modern Chinese art. I was shocked and very pleased to find that picture (because the doors there are lovely—the art gallery is located in the old archive section of the Forbidden City).
