Fellow Clarionite, Trent Hergenrader, just sent out an alert that “David Schwartz is compiling a list of appreciation essays for [SCIFICTION]. If you’re interested, go to http://edsfproject.blogspot.com/ and check it out.”
What this really means is that if you have never read any of the short stories at SCIFICTION, now is the perfect opportunity to go take a look at what you’ve been missing (and then mourn the fact that by the end of the year, what you’ve been missing will be completely gone). And if there is a story that pushes your buttons in all the right ways and you want to write an appreciation essay for it, just check out the instructions at the site and appreciate to the full extent of your heart’s desire.
Or just read the stories and enjoy. Perhaps, even, be inspired. That’s probably the best compliment anyone could ask for.
