I saw this on twitter: This Is Why I’ll Never Be An Adult.
Yes, to all of this.
I went to the (cool, wonderful, love this place) comic book store today for the first time in months, and picked up all kinds of things: Gail Simone’s BIRDS OF PREY, Raina Telgemeier’s SMILE, Lieberman’s COWBOY, NINJA, VIKING; some X-Men books, Hellboy, etc.—and finally, I saw Girl Comics #3, and that Wolverine and Jubilee story.
I hadn’t seen it in person, and while I’ll buy extra copies of the comics I write to give to family members who want them, I don’t normally look through the books. I mean, I already know what’s in there, and I’ve seen the art, the lettered pages, and so on.
But that story means something to me, and it was good to see and hold. I can’t help it. It made me happy. The whole issue did. I sat down when I got home, and read through all the stories with a cup of tea in hand; and I loved them. I’m really proud to be part of that project, and I hope there are more.
Now, back to work. The book is coming along, getting there, so close I can taste it. Gonna be a long night.
