So, of course, the moment that I actually promise the world I’m going to blog, all sorts of crazy things happen and I end up not blogging at all. I think I should begin practicing reverse psychology on myself: “I’m never going to blog again!”
And poof, here I am.
I read this really great post at White Hot Truth called “The What I Trust List”, and it inspired me to sit down this morning and make my own stream-of-consciousness list of things that I trust without question. The point is to focus on the present. Or, to quote: “The whole point of this exercise is to access the trust that already lives in your being. It’s not about generating new trust, or visualizing outcomes, or affirming your way into positive thinking. Those techniques are useful, but they can also turn into mind tricks. We’re concentrating on presence here.”
It’s a good exercise. The list can be short — as I thought mine would be — but the longer you write, the more you realize that there’s a great deal in this life that you can be certain of, not the least of which is your own capacity to embrace the best of what the world has to offer.
