Storms rolling in. I spent the day working on emotional intensity. Not mine, although I suppose as a writer it all comes from the same place. I’m sure there are people who could write a very nice guide on “How To Achieve Strong Emotions In Your Romance Novel” but I’m not one of them. I am, however, a fan of letting one’s characters do all the hard lifting. Give the hero and heroine something to do, and the rest will follow. Eventually. Which, I know, is totally unhelpful advice.
I will say this, though: If you aren’t feeling the pain, then neither are your peeps on the page.
Finished Lynn Kurland’s This Is All I Ask. Fantastic, like all the others. I bought her entire backlist, if that says anything, though I’ve already got a TBR pile a mile high. Poor lonely books. They need some loving!
Speaking of which, Soul Song will be released in less than a month. Do any of you have questions about the book or my writing process? I am totally at your disposal.
