Kinokuniya BookWeb, an online bookstore aimed at the Chinese and Japanese market, has my book for sale.  I’m listed between Laurell K. Hamilton’s ‘Circus of the Damned’ and Nina Bang’s ‘Night Bites’.  Which is nice, because those titles reflect the state of my writing at the moment.  I’ve been trying to take to heart an essay by Annie Dillard, which slithyove pointed out on his journal.

Write as if you were dying. At the same time, assume you write for an audience consisting solely of terminal patients. That is, after all, the case. What would you begin writing if you knew you would die soon? What could you say to a dying person that would not enrage by its triviality?

Seems like excellent advice.

And on another note (regarding LOST) does anyone else think that Hurley is way more than what he seems?  I mean, he’s sweet and funny and smart…but I’m picking up a vibe.  He’s got an excellent eye for details. My vote is former CIA or some dangerous secret that involves someone else that was on the plane.  And oh, poor man.  Bad tummy in the jungle, with only leaves for toilet paper?  My worst nightmare.  Jack – shame on you for laughing!  You’re a doctor!  Help the man!  Dehydration is a real danger.  Because as a person who has suffered TWICE from emergency room level stomach issues (they had to pump me full of liquids – there was a debate over whether I had cholera), Hurley’s condition is NO LAUGHING MATTER.

Then there’s Shannon and Boone.  Personally, I found the look on Boone’s face at the end to be chilling.  Shannon better watch her back.

And one more thing:  WHY ISN’T ANYONE LOOKING FOR CLAIRE?  Dom!Charlie! mentions her once and in the same sentence laughs at something Jack says.  WTF?  I’m so disappointed in the lack of concern.
