A writer is what he writes and becomes what he writes. This is one reason that I have always objected to writing stories that celebrate evil or that show evil as triumphant in the long run. ~ Dean Koontz
Just a couple interesting things for this beautiful peaches and cream sunrise of a morning:
First, big congratulations to my friend, John! At the Writers of the Future shindig he won the big one, the yearly ‘Gold Award’, grand prize, best story of the year, for “In the Flue.” Yay! Here’s a picture of him accepting the award.
Second, Melissa Alvarez is writing an article on psychic fiction for the Romantic Times Magazine. She sent out a survey that various writers and editors (myself included) participated in, and if you’d like to see our responses to her questions, go here. Apparently, October is “International Paranormal Fiction Month.”
Revision 14’s Bundle O’ Books Giveaway is continuing today, and part of the goodies being given away first are magnets for A TASTE OF CRIMSON. Signed bookcovers of TIGER EYE will be added to the giveaways throughout the week. It all ends on Sunday, August 28 with the announcement of the grand prize recipient. If you’re interested in trying your hand, here’s the link: http://www.revision14.com/readstory.jsp?article=244
Last, but not least, PBW has a nice list of links that are meant to improve writer health. Considering the fact that on the last two books I almost wrote myself into a coma, I suspect this is something I should take to heart.
Have a great day!
