I just spent the past five days in Tempe, AZ, talking to and meeting with some of the best editors, publishers, and writers in the science fiction / fantasy community. I’m not a very social person—or rather, I’m shy, so going forth and introducing myself to complete strangers is a stretch. Luckily, some very kind people took me under their wings and showed me the ropes, and of course my friends and teachers from Clarion were there. The gang reunited!
Now, of course, it’s back to the grind. I need to finish the book by December 1st. It’ll get done, and hopefully done well, but that’s all I’ll be doing. After that, I need to figure out where I’m going to move. All I need is a bookstore and a Starbucks.
