Hi guys. Sorry for the radio silence, but I’m chin deep in the writing, and the words must flow. Fortunately, we have a wonderful guest today: the lovely and talented Cindy Gerard, who has a new book out—SHOW NO MERCY.
The first book of Cindy’s that I ever read was TO THE EDGE, about a spiritually scarred man forced to play bodyguard for the daughter of a very wealthy individual. I loved it. I’m a sucker for bodyguard stories, and Cindy is one of my favorite escapes. I’m so happy to have her guest-blogging. She’s another Midwesterner, and it always tickles me how many of us live around here.
I hope that you all give her a warm welcome! I’m holding a drawing and Cindy is giving away the entirety of her BODYGUARD series – that’s six autographed books- so please comment and ask as many questions as you like, or just say hello, to be entered. The winner will be chosen on Wednesday.

Hi, Cindy Gerard here, just popping in to say HI! Marjorie was kind enough to visit me and my fellow riders at www.ridingwiththetopdown.blogspot.com a little while back so Im returning the favor and trying to be quiet because it sounds like Marjorie is still in deadline dementia. Know the feeling. Been there. Done that. Too many times to count.
So, Ill just tiptoe in, try not to disturb her, and let you all know that shes right about her cats. Running out of their fav food is not optional. I have two. And a dog a sweet, sweet, “I only want to please you,” dog. But the cats hey, you dont cross them, annoy them or ignore them unless, of course, they want to be ignored. Here they are Buddy (yellow) and Sly, being cute and cuddle and just plain adorable. Its all a ruse. Five minutes later, they were threatening to run away from home if I didnt come across with some kitty treats.
Heres proof this is Buddy, holding my purse for ransom.
And heres Sly letting me know: “This is MY sack. Fill it with tuna treats then just back away and nobody gets hurt.”
And God forbid, one of them misses their afternoon nap. I made the mistake of trying to make the bed around Buddy. Is this attitude or what?
Okay. Enough with the cute cat photos. If you have cats, youve got plenty of photos of your own. If you dont have cats you may not get the fact that they just sort of MAKE you love them.
So when Im not snapping photos, like Marjorie, Im usually working on a hard deadline. Occasionally, however, its just all about the finished book and the fact that its FINALLY coming out. You guessed it. On Sept 23, SHOW NO MERCY, the first book in my new Black Ops., Inc. series hits the shelves. Im excited. Seems like its been a long time coming, but the good news is, if youre fans of my Bodyguard series (a girl can hope :o) ) my BOIs take up where the Bodyguards left off. And for fans of series in general, Im doubly excited that book 2, TAKE NO PRISONERS, is coming out right on MERCYs heels on October 21 and WHISPER NO LIES will follow on December 30th. You can check out the entire series on my website, www.cindygerard.com. Or you can ask me about it here, on Marjories blog. Id love to chat quietly, of course, so we dont bug you know who.
In any event, hope youre all having a great day and Ill just tiptoe back to my own cave now and hope I didnt disturb Marjorie too much and let her get on with her work. Ill check back occasionally to see what you have to say but for now .
Bye.
Cindy
