I’m toasted, man. Nothing left to add to the conversation, except that I fly to San Francisco tomorrow for RW-Freakin’-A. The only thing I’m happily anticipating are friends and readers. Other than that, look for the chick slumped in the corner, trying to keep her eyes open. Could be me.
Today was too cool, though. First off, the Women of Marvel Comics panel! You can read an accounting of it here at CBR, though some of what was attributed to me, I did not actually say. Specifically, when someone asked about the female perspective in comics, I remember quite clearly uttering, “Uh, I don’t know.” According to CBR, however, I replied: “The female perspective is different, and different is good.”
At least they made me sound intelligent. I think.
Also, Robin Furth is incredibly nice.
Afterwards, I went and said most of my goodbyes—then hit the signing at the Marvel booth. Another surreal experience. Listen, people, this is all a dream come true. And it felt so good.
(Me, Sherrilyn Kenyon, and Robin Furth – who adapted Sherrilyn’s Lords of Avalon books into the comic)
So, that’s it. Now I need to pack. Wish me luck, and if you’re planning on going to RWA, I’ll see you next week!
