In the Dusk Court, no Arcanic controls their own destiny. Maika, trapped with Zinn in the darkest recesses of her mind, is in the hands of the Ancients, swallowed whole by the Snake Queen for scientific analysis. Meanwhile, Kippa, whose tenuous connection to Maika’s lost mind buoys her with hope for saving her friend, risks danger in a place where anyone with too much human blood is disdained. Her only protectors are Corvin and Bettani, whose disappointed parents might prove an additional obstacle.
