Monstress #5

PUBLISHED: APRIL, 2016
Writer: Marjorie Liu
Artist: Sana Takeda

Maika continues to struggle with the monster that lives inside her as she continues to search for answers about her past and her mother. Meanwhile, the brewing conflict between the Federation of Man and the supernatural Arcanics is growing more volatile, and Maika is being pursued by warriors from all factions.

Maika and her companions, a young Arcanic girl named Kippa and an enigmatic cat named Master Ren, are confronted by a powerful Arcanic named Corvin D’Oro and agree to meet the mysterious warriors of the Arcanic Dusk Court.

Reviews

“Monstress is a comic-book series where incredibly messed-up things happen. We’re talking child slavery, lynchings and cannibalism. Thank the poets it’s also got a magical, two-tailed talking cat named Master Ren.” – Kotaku

About Me

I write comic books and novels about grumpy warrior women, eccentric demons, plucky fox girls, and men who can shape-shift into tigers. If a merman or gargoyle shows up, all the better!  To learn more about me, please go here.
