Okay, I’m packed. Those who have followed the blog for some time know that I NEVER check in my bags. Doesn’t matter where I’m going, or for how long—I pack everything I need into a carry-on.
Except this time.
Something came over me. I can’t explain it. Rather than take the smallest wee little bag I could find, instead I brought me with a giant purple Hawaiian themed monstrosity that is now stuffed to the gills with clothes I thought I’d need, but never much wore. Lesson learned, again.
Had dinner the other night at Tianjin Bai Jiao Yuan, which is a restaurant famous for its dumplings. I think they offer a hundred different kinds—and, certainly, the menu was huge and thick as a book. We ordered beef curry, vegetarian, fish, and another seafood variety (but that one wasn’t quite as good as the others). The dumplings are made to order, so your meal is always fresh—and you can watch the cooks, as well, which was cool.
The meal was followed by a nice drive through the city. Beijing is beautiful at night. I’ve got more pictures to post, but there are some last minute things to take care before I head to the airport. Unless I find free wireless at the airport, the next time I post I’ll be back in the States.

Okay, today’s giveaway is a good one, but like some others, requires that you have access to iTunes. On this particular trip, I finally made time to watch a television series that I had been hearing good things about, but hadn’t really checked out (beyond some random channel surfing).
That series? FRINGE. Folks compare it to the X-Files, and I suppose there are some similarities, but the flavor is different, and so far—no aliens. I love it, and think most of you will, too.
Leave your name in the comments for a chance to win a download of the entire first season of FRINGE (standard definition, not high def—sorry).
