Well, my habit of not announcing chats until the last minute continues. I really need to get better at this whole promo thing. I blame my total inattention to outside matters on the books I’m writing at the moment – both Dirk & Steele, both wild, both crazy. I’m introducing a new female agent and her partner in my novella, which—again—is going to be a lot darker in tone than I anticipated when I first began writing. Originally, the story was going to focus on Kit Bell, but I realized quickly that her story was bigger than I had room for, so I had to scrap everything and start over.
That’s the key, you know – not being afraid to start over when something isn’t working. Of course, I take it to total extremes, which is not good at all, but that’s my personal insanity, and I’m still new at this. I’ve only been writing professionally for little over than a year. I’ll figure it all out, eventually.
So, getting back to the chat – in case you’re interested, all the authors of the Crimson City series are getting together tonight – Wednesday, October 26th – at 9 p.m. Eastern. If you’re interested, please go here: http://www.romrevtoday.com/Chat%20Room/chat_room.htm
PS: Every Monday and Tuesday night, TNT holds an X-Files marathon. Last night I watched The UnNatural. I always cry at the end of that episode. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve seen it, either. When that final shot of old Arthur Dale comes up, the tears just start flowing, and they don’t stop when Mulder starts playing baseball, because Scully is there, too, and he begins teaching her how to swing that bat –
::sigh::
