Two days ago I was climbing the Great Wall of China, and now I’m tucked snug as a bug back home, in my beautiful library with the poodle nearby, listening to coyotes run wild through the woods. It’s night here, late, but I feel alert because I’ve spent six weeks treating midnight as noon in China, and now my body is confused.
I took a walk this morning. Spring arrived while I was gone. Frogs, tadpoles, redbud blooms, little sun-caught leaves, beautiful dandelions. And yes, I love dandelions. There’s nothing prettier than a nice weed.
I read a lovely book on the plane: Heart’s Blood by Juliet Marillier. She takes the theme of Beauty and the Beast, and turns it into something wonderful. Here’s an interview with her at Writer Unboxed.
Below, pictures from my walk this morning.
