I’m in New York. I found a Borders bookstore within an hour of landing, which…is typically hardcore of me. Books are a universal safety net, and I always like browsing through a new place. I feel like bookstores reflect the people who go there. In this case, the Borders at the Time Warner center must not have many Sci-Fi/Fantasy readers, nor is their romance section all that large (although I can’t complain too much, because they did have three copies of Shadow Touch). Mysteries and Thrillers, however, abound.
And yes, the wallet came out. I found a fascinating book called Forbidden Fruit: Love Stories from the Underground Railroad, along with a writing journal that has pretty horses on it…or rather, as it is described, “Moroccan Mares.”.
I am now off to take a nap, but first, for those of you who asked about this Saturday’s booksigning (and thank you):
The Pocket Star booth # is 424, and The Javits Center (where NY Comic Con is taking place) is on 11th Ave between 34th and 39th Streets. I found a good link that lets you know various ways of how to get there. If you need it, go to http://www.jimsdeli.com/expo/javits-center/default.htm
WWE Superstar Kane is signing after me from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm. I have a friend who might like that, but only if I can battle the crowds for Frank Miller’s autograph first.
