Photo Overload from WFC

Nov 2 Marjorie

I think, quite often, that the best part of what I do as a writer cannot be limited just to the storytelling, but to the wonderful, awesome people I get to meet and spend time with.  So it is, with regret, that I left a day early, though it was necessary in order to get some work done.  I’ve posted a load of pictures below.

On Friday night, I sat down with some readers (my readers are wonderful!) in the hotel lobby.  Paranormal writer Jade Buchanan was there, along with her sister Sarah, and friends Christine and Kim.  They are the loveliest people, and luckily I had a big box of books donated from my publisher, so it was a literary trick-or-treat for all of us.  I wish I could do this more often.

Then, the signing.  Chandra Rooney () and her friend Michelle were there, dressed up in the best costumes (but unfortunately, I don’t seem to have a picture of them, though I could have sworn otherwise).  But here, the beautiful and talented N.K. Jemisin, who is coming out with the first of her epic fantasy trilogy, THE HUNDRED THOUSAND KINGDOMS, which Publishers Marketplace describes as “combining the politics of George R. R. Martin with the magic of Neil Gaiman.” I cannot wait to read it—and I’m especially tickled she picked up a copy of Shadow Touch.

Here’s Nina Kiriki Hoffman! She is the sweetest person anyone could possibly hope to meet, and was my teacher at Clarion.

The wonderful Alison and Margaret!

Graham Joyce! What a Hot Tomata!

Here’s some Big Trouble:  Graham Joyce , John Picacio, Paul Cornell, and Nikki Kimberling.

Bill Willingham, whose writing I admire so much, especially in Fables.  I was the Cowgirl to his Canadian Mountie (his hat was elsewhere).
