I forgot the USB cord to my camera, so no photographs on the blog until I return to Shanghai, which will be in a day or two. At the moment, I’m sitting in a little coffee shop in the Beijing suburbs, surrounded by books and dogs. And there’s wireless internet. And tea.
I’ve seen too many interesting things over the past couple days to possibly list them all (though there was a white poodle playing Supergirl in a bicycle basket that will live on in my memories, forever). More later, but in the meantime, take care—and keep posting all your interesting news and questions!
Updated to add: Here’s a picture of the cafe, taken on the sly with my computer camera. The dogs are gone (woof!) but this is such a pleasant place (Sting is on the radio). I’m enjoying sitting by the window and soaking up a wonderfully rare bright and clear Beijing sky, sun shining like a dream.
