Which is what I overheard a man lustily chanting yesterday as he tried to get his picture taken with some girls in fishnets. Who, I might add, were not dressed as cheerleaders.
Anyway, today is the last day. I am pooped. I am dragging. And tomorrow, I fly to San Francisco to attend RWA. No offense to the Romance Writers of America, but if I could dump that conference and run screaming for the hills, I would. Right now, I really would. Because—let’s all say this together—Marjorie is TIRED!
I should have taken notes for this blog. Everything is a blur. I attended panels, I know that. I had a signing at the Mysterious Galaxy booth, which was a great deal of fun. Had dinner with friends. And then I came back to the hotel, hit the bed, and passed out. Woke up in a puddle of drool.
On today’s schedule:
10:30am – 11:30am ?- Women in Marvel Panel: She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel are powerhouses in the Marvel U, now meet the real women powerhouses who work in Marvel Comics today! Writers Robin Furth (DARK TOWER), Sherrilyn Kenyon (Lords of Avalon), & Marjorie Liu (NYX), Jen Grunwald (Editor), colorist Christina Strain (RUNAWAYS), and Occasional Superheroine’s Valerie D’Orazio are here to answer your question about their titles, announce new projects, and explain how more women are breaking into comics every day! Location: Room 6A
1:00 PM – 2:00 PM – signing @ the Marvel Booth, with ROBIN FURTH, SHERRILYN KENYON, MARJORIE LIU, and CHRISTINA STRAIN.
And here, pictures!
I’ve known Erik forever. We went to high school together, and this is about the only time we ever get to see each other anymore. It’s totally appropriate, too—and slightly ironic—that more than twelve years later we’d be taking pictures together in front of a giant raging insect.
Signing books at Mysterious Galaxy.
Tobias Buckell was at Comic Con for the HALO presentation (he’s writing the novelization), and it was wonderful seeing him—for the first time, maybe? I think we’ve met before, but it’s all a blur now. That, and I almost ran him down in the hall on Thursday as I was racing to the X-Men panel.
Nathan Fillion—making a fast escape!
So maybe some of you remember, but last year my friend Syndee and I basically crowd-surfed and allowed ourselves to get crushed and trampled in order to take pictures of Jensen Ackles signing autographs. This year, it was Justin Hartley’s turn! Though, see, we thought ahead this time and were there before the crowd got too bad, so at least I didn’t end up crammed against some dude’s armpit.
